NYT Mini Crossword Clues and Solutions

The main screen of the NYT Mini Crossword features a screenshot with the text “Ready to start solving? Play.” The answers for today’s Mini Crossword from the New York Times are coming up next.

If you did not have the chance to complete the NYT Mini on Tuesday, you can refer to the solutions provided here for clues and answers.

Kris Holt of Forbes has provided answers and clues for the NYT Mini Crossword for Tuesday, January 7, featuring a man in a business suit levitating, a graphic novel in one piece, and a type of Dutch cheese made backwards with three oxygen atoms in its gas.

Are you curious about the word displayed on the front door of the Midvale School for the Gifted, as seen in a well-known Far Side comic? Uncertain about the significance of MA or MS, but not BA or BS? No need to fret, as I am here to provide you with the solutions for the current NYT Mini crossword.

The smaller and more simplified version of the newspaper’s well-known crossword, the NYT Mini, typically consists of a five by five grid with three to five clues in each direction. However, there are occasionally larger puzzles, particularly on Saturdays.

The NYT Mini crossword, unlike its bigger counterpart, can be played for free on the New York Times website or via the NYT Games app. However, to access past puzzles in the archives, a subscription to NYT Games is required.

In order to prevent you from getting stuck and having to give away any missing letters, here are the solutions for the NYT Mini Crossword for Wednesday, January 8 ( spoilers ahead, as expected ):

Clues and Answers for the New York Times Mini Crossword

The following are the solutions for the NYT Mini Across clues.

The word “PULL” is written on the front door of the Midvale School for the Gifted, as seen in the well-known cartoon “Far Side”. This is the answer to the clue “1 Across”.

The classic television team known as the A-Team consists of B.A., Faceman, Hannibal and Murdock — A-TEAM

The answer for 7 Across is either MA or MS, but not BA or BS – STATE.

8 Across: In alphabetical order, similar to the letter J — TENTH

9 Across: Posterior, to British people — ARSE

Answers for the NYT Mini Crossword Puzzle

1 Across: An ingredient that can be prepared al dente — PASTA

2 Down: Utterly — COMPLETELY

3 Across: The action performed by the Tower of Pisa — TILTS

4 Across: Order of coffee with milk — LATTE

The answer to 6 down is “I have witnessed superior quality” — MEH

On Wednesday, January 8, the New York Times Mini crossword was completed and is depicted in the image above.

I finished the NYT Mini in 0:36 today.

I managed to achieve a decent time, even though I initially only solved three of the Across clues. A-TEAM was relatively straightforward, and I must confess that I resorted to counting the letters on my fingers to solve it up to J. Surprisingly, ARSE was also quite easy, probably due to its recent appearance in Connections by Forbes contributor Krisholt on January 5, 2025. It is worth noting that today’s Mini was also created by Connections editor, Wynia Liu.

Initially, I was unaware of the reference to Far Side and mistakenly assumed that 7 Across was related to various academic qualifications. On the other hand, my preferred choice of coffee is a LATTE.

Be sure to check out my blog (http://forbes.com/sites/krisholt) for additional coverage of the NYT Mini and other language games, as well as news, perspectives, and analysis on video games.
